Each year, a SNAP Nominating Committee is formed for the purpose of identifying interested and qualified candidates for the SNAP Board. The Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are elected positions. The election is held during the Annual Meeting of SNAP members.

The Committee Chairs and the Members at Large are appointed positions. Both elected and appointed position serve for a term of one year. The Board typically meets the first Tuesday of each month at Mudville Grill beginning a 6 pm.

Board Members

Jason Leighty, Chairperson

  • Chief executive officer and spokesperson of the association
  • Authority on issues & procedures
  • Ensures bylaws & covenants are enforced
  • Sets meeting dates, time, location & agenda
  • Runs meetings, brings issues to votes as needed
  • Follows up on decisions and assignments made at meeting and keeps tasks on track

Tommy Gay, Vice Chair

  • Fills in for the Chairperson in his/her absence
  • Is familiar with the association’s objectives and bylaws
  • May assist the president if delegated with specific tasks
  • May be delegated to be the liaison between association and specific committee chairs

Bonnie Sinatro, Secretary

  • Serves as official record keeper
  • Records all meeting minutes & distributes to board members
  • Furnishes committees with necessary information to perform their duties

Stephanie Tufts Stein, Treasurer

  • Serves as chief financial officer and must understand their fiduciary responsibility to the association
  • Pay all association’s expenses in a timely & accurate manner
  • Collects voluntary dues and earned income and deposits funds to the association bank accounts in a timely manner
  • Provides monthly financial reports at meetings, reconciles the accounts 
  • Administrator of the SNAP Square account
  • Serves as the Registered Agent for the State of Florida, Department of Corporations
  • Files the State of Florida Annual Report

Walter Bryant, City of Jacksonville Citizens Planning Advisory Committee Representative (CPAC)

  • Represents the neighborhood at City of Jacksonville Citizens Planning Advisory Committees
  • Reports back to the board on any activities that may impact our neighborhood

Committee Chairpersons

Membership: Linda King

  • Serves as the point person for annual membership drive
  • Recruits and maintains membership
  • Maintains a roster of members in good standing. 
  • Ensure any membership dues received are promptly transferred to the Treasurer

Communications: Lisa Gay

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date email distribution list for the following distributions:
    • General SNAP communications
    • SNAP Membership
    • Board of Directors
  • Serves as Administrator for the following Facebook pages:
    • St Nicholas Neighbors
    • Buy Sell St Nicholas
  • Uses Constant Contact to distribute email communications as needed
  • Writes communications for the board and general membership as needed
  • Maintains web site for SNAP

Events: Michel Moses

  • Initiates plans for association events to be presented to the board for approval. Plan to include:
    • Type of function
    • Location, date & time
    • Estimated cost
    • Additional tasks to ensure successful implementation
  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of the event

Block Captain Coordinator: Bonnie Sinatro

  • Responsible for leading the team of St. Nicholas neighborhood Block Captains
    • Organizes St. Nicholas neighborhood into zones
    • Selects & trains Block Captains
    • Develops Welcome Packages & other material for the Block Captains
    • Maintains up-to-date distribution lists of Block Captains
    • Communicates with Block Captains as necessary

Beautification: Walter Ericks

  • Responsible for overseeing that the maintenance of St Nicholas Cemetery is being performed timely and correctly
  • Identifies other common areas in St Nicholas that would benefit from community support and activity
  • Presents plans and cost estimates to board for approval

Historian: Erik Kaldor

  • Must be knowledgeable in the neighborhood and/or association’s history

Members-at-Large:

None at the present time

  • Attend all board meetings
  • Receive assignments from Chairperson to address specific issues or projects
  • Sit on certain committees to ensure board’s direction is followed
